New Chat

As you can see, we have a new chat screen! This new chat gives us a LOT of options!

We have a few with the basic screen: bold, italics and underline.

When you click "Open chat in new window" you have all KINDS of options to explore!

What to check out:

In the top left-hand corner is the Style drop down menu. This will change the color scheme of your chat box.

New smilies!Have fun with these!

Below the new smilies we have some basic options: Bold, Italics, Underline, Quote, Code, URL, Image and Font Color.

To the right of these are the following options:

Show/Hide Help Screen
This will give you lots of shortcuts

Show/hide Settings ohBOY are there a lot of settings!
You can enable many options here as well as sound settings and an option called Persist Font Color. Persist Font Color allows you to use a font color in every submission without having to choose the color each time. You can choose different sounds for when messages are posted, either by you or another user, when people log in or out, when the chatbot says anything and whenever there is an error.

Show/hide Online List
This gives you the list of current members on the board.

Sound On/Off
Just like it says, turn the chat sounds on or off by clicking here.

Autoscroll On/Off
You can pause your spot in the chat if you want to, or let it scroll on it's own.


So there you go! A basic look at the new chat options.

Now that I've been in and out of the chat a couple times... the sound and color settings do not stay, you must select them everytime you log back into the new chat screen. The style, however, will remain.

So it seems our old chat form is back on our main pages. However, if you click on the chat tab in the header you will get the chat screen with all the options

But now we've noticed the two don't cross with each other. They are completely seperate. Maybe they'll continue to work on it and get it working right.
